Argyll & Bute Council Joint Trade Unions have written to the Chief Executive of Argyll and Bute Council (ABC) and the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) about the proposed redundancies for a number of council posts in the Kintyre Community Care Team (KCCT).
There has been a draft document circulated to those working in the KCCT relating to future cuts, with no consultation with the trade unions.
ABC and the HSCP have been reminded that there is a statutory duty to consult trade unions on redundancies and failure to do so can result in protective awards of £3907 for each member affected.

The joint trade unions feel that the council has forgotten its responsibility for staff working in the IJB. We have asked for this document to be withdrawn and to take steps to make sure that appropriate consultation with the joint trade unions takes place on this and all other staffing changes that impact on council employees.
