**FREE WORKSHOPS ON TRAUMA AND PTSD**

Our colleagues at Unison Scotland Learning and Organising have secured funding for one hour digital workshops on Trauma and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) awareness.

Many public sector workers and those working on the frontline in key roles have continued to work during this time; many have experienced situations that they would never expect to and are more vulnerable than others to suffering Trauma or Post-traumatic stress which can adversely affect their home and working lives.

The workshop is designed to help us understand what PTSD and Trauma can look like and to give you a bit more confidence when talking to colleagues, clients, members, friends and family who may be struggling. The workshops will be run digitally by the University of Strathclyde, by two tutors who are experts in this field and have worked extensively in the NHS as well as lecturing at the university.

The areas covered will include:

  • The causes of Trauma & PTSD
  • Impact of trauma on the individual
  • The behaviours associated with Trauma & PTSD
  • Techniques to mitigate against PTSD
  • When to seek professional help and from who

The workshops are available to all members will run online on the following dates:

  • 27 July at 11am
  • 27 July at 3pm
  • 17 August at 11am
  • 17 August at 3pm
